An investigation into oral fluency perceived by teachers and students—in a Vietnamese context of English education

Abstract This study attempts to investigate how four groups of participants at Tra Vinh University perceive oral fluency. is conducted in the hope obtain more perceptions fluency so future rubrics can be developed based on such perceptions. The used a set items stating what should like, which was Qualitative aspects spoken language proposed by Council Europe (2019). To test if were accepted, invited 33 senior English-majored students, 20 English teachers with BA, 22 an MA, and 10 doctorate degree for study. A five-point Likert scale questionnaire consisting 18 closed-ended questions open-ended question employed collect participants’ results showed that MA tend agree while other slightly agreed most items. Furthermore, many provided their own ideas about fluency, finally synthesized. Some limitations recommendations also included.
